Specialist of the mantilla, Central Encajera introduces an eclectic collection. The use of a mantilla developed during the 16th and 17th centuries in Spain as the head covering of Catholic women attending Mass. However it wasn’t until the 18th century that mantillas were also worn by women of high society. By the end of the 19th century, Carmen, in Bizet’s opera, had redefined the mantilla.
